„Das Leben ist auch ohne Kunst schon schwierig genug“

Gedanken, nicht nur eigene, zur Kunst im Allgemeinen und zu meinen Arbeiten im Speziellen:

– Malen ist eine Handlung, ein Bewegungsablauf, den man in sich selbst trägt.

– Kunst nimmt immer Anteil am Prozess des Erinnerns und des Vergessens, den Menschen bewusst oder unbewusst erleben.

– Für die Idealisten zählt nicht das Gemälde als physisches Objekt, sondern das mentale Bild, das es evozierte.

– Das Ausformulieren der eigenen künstlerischen Sprache braucht eine angemessene Dauer, Langsamkeit, womöglich gar ein ganzes Leben lang. Zeit, die sich der Künstler nicht streitig machen lassen darf. Malerei ist der Weg zur Selbsterkenntnis. Für diese Maxime sollte auch heute noch jeder Künstler der marktaffirmativen Inszenierung widerspenstig den Rücken kehren. Nicht das Spektakuläre, sondern das Unverwechselbare, Eigene zählt. Das Zurückgehen auf die Fundamente einer Grundhaltung.

– Meine Arbeiten sind “ Werkzeuge “ zur Selbstfindung, “ Werkzeuge “ zum “ Sehnsuchen “, Vehikel auf dem Weg zur Freiheit, zur Unabhängigkeit, eine Vorbreitung zum “ Loslassen “, zur Verwandlung, zum Verlassen dieser Welt. ‘ (ABRAHAM DAVID CHRISTIAN)

– Kontinuierliches Bemühen um – wie es Yves Klein formuliert hat:  “ LE DEPASSEMENT DE LA PROBLEMATIQUE DE L’ART “ -, die Überwindung der Kunstproblematik.

– Das tägliche Tun sind die Versuche, unterschiedlichste Materialien, allen voran “ Heavy Metal “, d.h. Blei und Eisen, variantenreich zu gestalten und Ausdrucksformen zu finden, die sie in einen künstlerischen Kontext bringen.

– Über den Künstler Christian Boltanski ist folgendes geschrieben worden: “ Boltanski treibt das Spiel mit Erinnerung in allen Phasen und Variationen. Ausgangspunkt dafür ist eine erbitterte Suche nach sich selbst, die zur Erkenntnis eigener Fremdheit führt. Er fühlt sich, mit eigenen Worten , “ différent des autres “  Es gibt viele meine Kindheit betreffende Dinge, die ich unterdrückt habe, weil sie mir zu andersartig schienen….”
